The Icelandic Association of Medical Secretaries is a society of medical secretaries in Iceland which was founded in 1970. The first chairman of board was Valgerdur Steingrimsdottir, from 1970-1972, but since then 10 others have held that position. f

The association now has 270 members but there are at least twice that many medical secretaries in Iceland. Several meetings are held during the year, both educational and recreational. The board meets twice a month and additionally the board meets with members in a café downtown once a month.
